Sunny Hibbits
Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Sunny Hibbits is from Montara, California. Sunny is the true voice of HollerFolk. Her inspired vocal landscapes echo down the holler to the Pacific from her Coastal home at Alpacas By The Sea in Montara. Her original musical compositions and cover interpretations are the heartbeat of Hollerfolk. Sunny has been on stage since age 8 and has performed for the San Francisco Children’s Musical Theater. She has also performed in lead musical theater roles in productions in high school and college. She received a Scholarship in drama from Mercy High School in San Francisco and went on to attend San Francisco State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Holistic Health Concentration. Her witchy haunting vocals take HollerFolk on a journey through her earthy and Paegan inspired musical world. Sunny is our force of nature. HollerFolk is Sunny’s Band!
Rick Kendrick
Rick Kendrick is from North Carolina. Rick is the Lead guitarist for HollerFolk. Rick brings the songs to life through his stylish and creative guitar board mastery. Rick is truly a Renaissance Man! Rick is a gifted musician and great musical collaborator. Rick holds a Master of Science MS, Physics from NC State University. He is also a patent holding and award-winning Optical Engineer with a long list of professional and scientific achievements. Rick is the Principal at Laurel Creek Optics LLC, based in San Mateo, California. He is also been an Engineering Fellow of several large aerospace technology companies. From his scientific work at the W. M. Keck Observatory on The Big Island’s Maunakea to working on complex engineering for leading technology firms, Rick is a true expert at everything he does. He is literally out of this world! Rick brings a sonic journey and magic to the songs. Rick is a fun and enlightened musical talent. Rick’s beautiful lead guitar brings HollerFolk alive. Rick lives in San Mateo, California with his wonderful wife Sharron and their two Kerrin Terriers.
Kenny Hibbits
Kenny Hibbits is also from North Carolina. Kenny is an original songwriter and is the rhythm guitarist for HollerFolk. Kenny holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Economics & Psychology from Appalachian State University. After ASU, he moved progressively westward. Upon arriving in Montara, California he discovered his favorite surf spot and immediately put down roots as the Black Sheep of the family. However, instead of sheep, of course, it is alpacas that are the family passion. With his amazing wife Victoria, they established Alpacas By The Sea in 1992. Thus began a thirty plus year family legacy. Kenny writes original music for HollerFolk and enjoys jam bands. He also enjoys writing and playing Appalachian Mountain inspired original music. He also enjoys playing traditional country, bluegrass, and blues covers. He also has spent countless days in the woods and mountains, climbing, camping, and jamming around the campfire.
McKinley Hibbits
McKinley Hibbits is a talented Digital Artist from Montara, California. If you been to a HollerFolk show you have likely seen his amazing original artistic compositions. McKinley holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree – BASc Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics and Special Effects. His artistic creations are one of a kind. McKinley is the visual artistic pulse of HollerFolk. He also logs hours of time designing posters, providing artistic direction as well as taking photographs and video for the band. His art commissions are always rolling and his remarkable artwork and creative talents are in high demand on everything from tee shirts to concert posters and album sleeves. His canvas original art is always selling fast. McKinley’s art graces our posters and is showcased in band photography and video. McKinley is our creative consultant and artistic litmus test for all things HollerFolk. McKinley’s original art can always be identified by his distinctive digital signature.
